After Osaka, Japan, in 2014, Rennes, Brittany is welcoming the ICTM Music and Minorities Study Group 9th Symposium in July 2016. The University of Rennes 2 will host the week long communications and work session centered on two themes specially "at home" in Brittany, given its linguistic and musical identity: "Music and Languages" and "Minorities among Minorities".
Hosted by Ethno-Musicologist Yves Defrance and other members of CRBC (Center for Breton and Celtic Research EA 4451), the International researchers will discuss these topics through more than 30 different communications.
The ICTM, International Council for Traditional Music is a Non-Governmental Organization in formal consultative relations with UNESCO.
